Learn To Sail

In our Learn To Sail class you’ll learn how to comfortably and safely skipper a 26-foot keelboat. We have the best boats and instructors and the most in-depth curriculum of any school in the country. Our classes are taught on J80s—fast, stable sport boats. We use performance boats for our

Learn to Sail training because their responsiveness makes them the best learning platform. Many schools try to fit the same curriculum into two or three day classes, but we have found that five days allows us to give our students a much deeper understanding of the material

and the confidence to begin sailing boats on their own after the course. Our amazing instructors create a fun and welcoming learning environment onboard. There are no prerequisites for Learn To Sail besides an open mind and a desire to learn to sail. Students taking Learn To Sail can opt to test for a US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification, the nautical version of a driver’s license. For local perspective sailors who can’t get away from work during the week, we also offer the same Learn to Sail course over three consecutive weekends. If you’re still not sure, you can join our Sailing Fundamentals course, which has all the same content of the first weekend of our Learn to Sail course.
