Take your sailing to the next level. Performance Cruising is the class for sailors comfortable sailing keelboats up to 27 feet and looking to move up to keelboats in the 30 to 40 foot range. In this class, you will learn how to comfortably skipper our J105, both under sail and under power. Emphasis is placed on boat handling and control, and you will become proficient in docking, mooring, and anchoring in a variety of situations. You will learn to use, understand, and fix the more complex systems found on larger boats. Our Learn To Sail class or comparable experience are prerequisite to this class. Students taking Performance Cruising can opt to test for the US Sailing Basic Cruising certification required to charter larger keelboats with auxiliary power.
